What GP Trusted Tools is
GP Trusted Tools is an independent, community-built resource for people who work in UK general practice. It brings information and experiences about clinical systems, online consultation platforms, telephony, equipment, training and other practice tools into a searchable, structured catalogue.
The service is operated by Cambridge Medical Partners. It is not part of the NHS and inclusion in the catalogue does not mean that a tool is approved, endorsed or recommended by the NHS.
Who it is for
The catalogue is designed for GP partners, practice managers, PCN teams, clinicians, reception and administration teams, digital leads and others involved in choosing, implementing or reviewing practice technology. Suppliers and researchers may also use the public catalogue, but they do not control its editorial conclusions or moderation decisions.
Why context matters
A tool that works well for a large urban training practice may not suit a small rural dispensing practice. Reviews are designed to include useful context such as role, practice-size band, setting, clinical system, UK nation and length of use. Public context is deliberately minimised and banded to reduce the risk of identifying an individual reviewer or practice relationship.

What the site does not do
GP Trusted Tools does not provide clinical advice, procurement approval, information-governance assurance or a substitute for a clinical-safety assessment. A catalogue entry is not an accreditation, and an individual review is not a recommendation that a product will suit every practice.
Who can review
People working in UK general practice—including GPs, practice managers, nurses, pharmacists, reception and administration staff, and PCN teams—will be able to share their own experience. A reviewer may choose a public display name or pseudonym. Their contact email is kept private and used only for validation and responsible moderation.
How we keep it trustworthy
GP Trusted Tools is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHS or suppliers listed in the catalogue. Paid placement must never masquerade as editorial judgement. Product claims are labelled according to their evidence, and no new review is published automatically.
Catalogue changes are made through a version-controlled repository. This preserves an audit trail and allows evidence, wording and corrections to be reviewed before deployment.
How information is corrected
Readers and suppliers may identify factual errors or provide newer evidence. Corrections are assessed against the same evidence rules as other catalogue content. Legitimate critical reviews are not removed merely because a supplier disagrees with them.
